Fermentation

“Fermentation is a metabolic process that produces chemical changes in organic substrates through the action of enzymes.”  -Wikipedia.

Below are some definitions of fermentation:

  • Preservation methods for food via microorganisms (general use).
  • Any large-scale microbial process occurring with or without air (common definition used in industry, also known as industrial fermentation).
  • Any process that produces alcoholic beverages or acidic dairy products (general use).
The most common fermented foods/drinks that naturally contain probiotics, or have probiotics added to them, include: yoghurt, kefir, miso, tempeh, kimchi, pickles, kombucha, sauerkraut, sourdough bread.

Why Fermented Food?

Fermenting is one of the oldest techniques for food preservation. Mankind has been fermenting foods and drinks like beer and wine for centuries. Foods that are fermented go through a process of lactofermentation in which natural bacteria feed on the sugar and starch in the food, creating lactic acid.

This process creates an environment that preserves the food and promotes beneficial enzymes, B vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids, as well as various species of good bacteria.

What does PROMIC do?

It is not just an ordinary fermented drink. PROMIC is a fermented fruit juice that has a consortium of good microbes (probiotics) that complement our body’s microbiome.

When you have enough variation of microbes, it will balance your inner body. You’ll recover faster, improve your health and strengthen the immune.

PROMIC is vegan, halal, and also made with no sugar or chemicals. It can be drunk directly or used as a starter to make Juspro/Projus to fulfill you and your family’s health needs.
