A healing crisis, also known as a detoxification reaction or Herxheimer reaction, refers to a temporary worsening of symptoms or an onset of new symptoms that may occur during the process of healing or detoxifying the body. This phenomenon is often observed when individuals make significant changes to their lifestyle, such as adopting a new diet, undergoing a cleanse, or starting a new treatment protocol.
Scientifically, a healing crisis is not widely recognized as a distinct medical condition, and its existence is somewhat controversial. However, certain physiological processes can help explain the experiences some individuals attribute to a healing crisis.
Detoxification: When the body eliminates toxins, such as environmental pollutants, heavy metals, or metabolic byproducts, the process can initially increase the toxin levels in the bloodstream. This sudden release of toxins may temporarily overwhelm the body’s elimination systems, leading to symptoms like fatigue, headaches, nausea, or skin rashes.
Inflammation: Inflammation is a natural response of the immune system to injury or infection. When the body undergoes a healing process, it can trigger an inflammatory response as part of the repair mechanism. This can cause temporary discomfort or an exacerbation of existing symptoms before the healing progresses.
Adjustment period: Introducing significant lifestyle changes can disrupt the body’s homeostasis, causing a temporary imbalance. For example, switching to a new diet or treatment protocol may require the body to adapt to different nutrient intake or metabolic processes, which can lead to temporary symptoms.
It’s important to note that not all symptoms experienced during a healing crisis can be attributed to actual healing processes. Sometimes, these symptoms can be unrelated or caused by other underlying conditions. Therefore, it is essential to consult with a qualified healthcare professional to ensure proper evaluation and guidance.
In summary, the concept of a healing crisis is not universally accepted within the scientific community. However, certain physiological processes like detoxification, inflammation, and adjustment periods may explain the temporary worsening or onset of symptoms that some individuals experience during the healing or detoxification process.
Based on the book “Your Body is the Best Doctor” by Dr. Husen A. Bajry,M.D., Ph.D, a healing crisis is when our bodies experience physiological adjustments to processes such as detoxification (removal of toxins), dilution of previously thick blood, increased metabolic rate, increased oxygen in the blood.
This can be followed by dizziness, discomfort in the chest, drowsiness, sleep that is longer than usual, and other symptoms in our body.
Symptoms that usually appear in the healing process include: diarrhea, headaches, weakness, fatigue, lethargy, difficulty sleeping, nausea, decreased appetite and so on.
These symptoms arise as a natural reaction of the body. Reactions arise because the body is doing detoxification or removing toxins and accumulated waste and only burdens the body due to our bodies accidentally consuming 6P (dyes, preservatives, sweeteners, flavours, pesticides & air pollution) for years since we born, leading to serious illnesses.
In reactions to external use, the user experiences itching / bumps, the skin feels hot, the facial skin feels numb and swollen, the skin peels, acne increases, tingling / pain in the skin, Pigmentation / Flex color is getting more obvious, that’s all normal.
We can compare the healing process to a ladder. The highest rung of the ladder is healthy, that is, the condition of the body is all in a state of balance. When our health begins to decline, it is like going down a ladder. On every step he descends, he will experience certain signs.
For example, on the first step he starts feeling short of energy, on the next steps, he starts feeling bloated and nauseous, next is dizziness and headache & so on. When his body starts to get better, it’s like he’s climbing the stairs again. He also went back to experiencing things that had happened at every level of the stairs he had passed.
If indeed the reaction is very, very disturbing, sometimes we have to adjust the treatment we are currently undergoing. By consuming more drinking water, it is hoped that the elimination of toxins and waste that has been burdening the body can be maximized.
Given that palliative drugs generally only reduce the symptoms of the disease, such as pain-blocking drugs. So if you don’t have to, you should avoid using these drugs except when you have to, with minimal doses.
With Promic, medicines can still be taken. It is recommended to drink Promic first before taking medication.
An overview of Healing Crisis that can occur and its causes:
- Drowsiness, fatigue in hands & feet: indicates an acidic body condition, weak liver function, excessive exercise/activity, regular (long-term) consumption of drugs, abnormal blood sugar.
- Mild fever or body feeling hot: an increase in blood circulation which ultimately results in an increase in the body’s metabolic processes so that the released body air has an impact on increasing body temperature.
- Continuous urination & defecation, stomach feels bloated: shows improvement in digestion & ulcers.
Body feels hot, flu, excessive energy, difficulty sleeping: shows the body is burning fat & turning it into energy (this is the most normal reaction). - Dizziness, feeling weak & hungry: indicates low blood pressure, (especially for people with anemia).
Vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, belching: indicates poor digestion. Problems in the stomach & liver, too much stomach acid in the stomach. - Difficult bowel movements, no bowel movements, constipation: indicates intestinal crust is being cleaned or released.
Acne, itching, redness of the skin, excessive sweating, smelly urine: indicates toxins in the body, constipation / constipation, weak liver, allergies, lack of body fluids. - Weight gain for those who are overweight or obese: water is temporarily retained due to weak kidney function, muscle gain after fat dissolution.
- Increased pain in certain body parts such as headaches: shows improvement in ulcers (sprue) in the intestine / digestion, rheumatism, high acid urine, migraine / vertigo patients, nervous disorders & rheumatism.
- Irregular menstruation, decreased blood pressure: indicates hormonal adjustment, low blood pressure, anemia.
Dry cough, canker sores, bad breath: indicates a detoxification process, lack of fluids. - Coughing up phlegm: indicates weak lung function, allergies, sinusitis, hypertension, asthma, anemia.
Temporary increase in blood sugar, blood pressure & heart rate: indicates diabetes, high blood pressure, thick blood, high cholesterol. - Slightly swollen face & feet, decreased blood pressure: indicates weak kidney function.
- A few blood spots during disposal show normal symptoms in people who have hemorrhoids (it is recommended to drink more water), abnormal growths in organs such as cancer, tumors.
Not experiencing any symptoms/reactions indicates good health/slow body reaction (healing reaction may occur later).
Each person experiences a different reaction, there are also those who do not experience any reaction.
If you are in the process of medication / treatment (serious condition), keep taking the drug until you feel better and can start reducing your drug dose slowly and replaced with 100% natural or herbal means, and a better diet and life.
